Review of
RBS Six Nations Rugby
|
| Phil Huggins | Graphics pretty good and game play smooth but the game is restricted in terms of player movement, which causes boredom too easily. Not many player options available and you tend to find yourself running straight at the opposition. One major frustration is that you cannot angle players when running so you are always running in a straight line. If the developers would have allowed for player movement the game would be far far better, maybe a 9/10. A reasonably good game but too restricted in what you can do. |
| Adam Aherne-conroy | If you are a toddler you may enjoy this game for longer than 5 mins, otherwise I seriously doubt it.
For any serious rugby fan this game is a tragedy. You can't take a drop goal, there are no line-outs, you can't move players anywhere other than a straight line and player attributes do not vary.
All this = extremely poor playability.
Yes, the graphics are good and the atmosphere decent but that won't make a game. A sports game has to be playable and this lacks just about everything you need to make a rugby game special. What makes this especially annoying is the fact they could easily have added in the lacking elements and produced a much better effort.
So come on developers, produce a rugby game that has all the above, make it 100k larger and you will have a game to be proud of.
I mean did anyone seriously have the patience to sit through an entire 6 nations championship, with the same boring scores being gained over and over.
Far too easy, terrible playability and basically complete rubbish. Avoid at all costs. |
| Craig Chennell | Good gameplay but it is too easy. |
